We are a locally-owned small business in Uxbridge, Ontario, specializing in heating, air conditioning, and ventilation services (HVAC) for both homes and businesses throughout the Durham Region. From it’s very foundation, McKeever Heating and Air Conditioning is built upon three core principles:

We are licensed and ensured professionals who’ve had proper and extensive training in heating and cooling systems. Locations we Serve
Being in the center of Durham Region, we travel to all towns with the region, at no extra cost for travel. We commit to same-day 24-hour emergency service for all locations in Durham and surrounding areas.
The Team
Our team are highly skilled HVAC warriors, rigorously trained produce high quality work and provide excellent customer service. We carefully select our team members based on their moral character, physical ability, intelligence, adaptiveness, and initiative, to ensure they are capable of delivering the quality of service we expect. Our training includes understanding the proper use of tools, how to install, service, and maintain HVAC equipment, keeping the customer’s home clean before, during, and after work completion, how to deliver great customer service, safety training, working at heights training, MEWP operator training, and company ethics training.
James grew up in the small town of Uxbridge, Ontario, attending St. Joseph Catholic School and Uxbridge Secondary School. Growing up, James always wanted to be a superhero fighting bad guys with his ninja moves. He attended classes in Taekwando to learn how to become a ninja from the ages of 6 to 18. At the end of his training, James was a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo. While James today is not a ninja, he learned his most valuable lessons from his martial arts training. The philosophy of a black about was not about kicks and punches, but about the following core principles: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit. These core values had been ingrained in James’ soul, and carried them forward from then on.
He was 20 years old when he began career, studying at Himark for his G3 and G2 gas technician certificate while working as a co-op student for a commercial HVAC company. James soon gained his G2 certificate and worked in commercial HVAC service and construction for a year and a half, before switching to residential HVAC. Over the years, he had seen some poor practices done by other technicians. He saw that the HVAC industry was suffering from false diagnoses, hacked installations, unqualified technicians, and other corners being cut to try to save profits on the consumer’s expense.

From that point of realization, James decided he was going to open his own company, where he would do things right. There would be no tolerance for laziness, negligence, or dishonesty under his management. He would train his employees to embody the philosophical principles of the black belt. No other company had the ambition to deliver ethical and effective service grounded in such beliefs as he.
James took in the best practices he learned from his many mentors. He worked hard to learn quick and be the best he could be as a technician. By 25 years old, James was leading his own install crew. In 2024, James incorporated McKeever Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. By 26 years old, he had already started his new company and decided to leave his employment to work on his business full time.
To this day, James continues to lead the company in delivering ethical and reliable HVAC service to homeowners and businesses across Durham Region.
Yazzan Alazrak
Senior Install Technician
Yazzan began his HVAC journey at the same time as James. He worked as an install helper installing furnaces, air conditioners, tankless water heaters, boilers, and in-floor heating. After four years of working for his first company, he switched companies where he found James. Yaz and James worked together as employees for months installing HVAC equipment with speed and with high standards. It did not take long for Yaz and James to become good friends, as they had shared the same core ethical principles.
Yaz had expressed his plan to become an independent contractor to James, after which James had expressed his plan to start his own business. Yaz had agreed to work for James as independent contractor once they had both left their employment.
After becoming self-employed, Yaz has helped James install HVAC equipment such as ductless mini-splits and water heaters.
Yazzan has proven to be a highly skilled and disciplined individual. He shares the company values of honest service, quality workmanship, and unwavering integrity. Like a tank, he will not stop until the job is done. He has demonstrated to perform visually appealing installations, which is a highly valuable ability to the company. Yazzan also has proven to be a very good planner and is cognizant of every step of the installation process, ensuring it is done safely and properly to optimize equipment functionality.
