UV Bulb

A UV bulb in an HVAC system is used to emit ultraviolet light that helps kill or deactivate airborne microorganisms like bacteria, viruses, mold spores, and other pathogens as air circulates through your home. Installed typically inside the ductwork, UV bulbs work by disrupting the DNA of these harmful microbes, preventing them from reproducing and spreading. This not only improves indoor air quality but also helps keep your HVAC system cleaner by reducing mold and microbial buildup on coils and other components, which can improve system efficiency and extend its lifespan. In today’s health-conscious world, UV bulbs are an important tool for creating a cleaner, healthier home environment.
